Great time in Coons Bluff!

I had the opportunity to shoot with a group of AZ photographers in Coon’s Bluff. It’s a nice little park with beautiful desert trees in Tonto National Forest. Weather is so nice right now in Phoenix and we don’t want to miss the chance of shooting outdoor before the AZ summer comes! Check out the pictures!

Overseas Photoshoot

In December, we spent several weeks in Hong Kong with friends and family. It was a wonderful trip because I got to take my kids to experience the culture in Asia. I did haul my photography gears. I was stoked when Cathay Pacific check-in counter told me that my carry-on bag is overweight. Even though my ThinkTank Airport International suitcase well fits the dimension of their carry-on requirement. They only allows 7kg (15 lbs) for each carry-on bag. I ended up have to store some of the lenses into cartoon boxes they provided to avoid checking-ing them…

With all the gears I bought, of course I didn’t miss the chance to do some location photography over there. One of my friend suggested the old Kai Tai Airport, there is an airport fire station in there which was burned down last year. We got there with all the gears and our model Manis. She loves being photographed and we had a blast!

At last, we decided to take a group shot, it was around noon time and the sun was extremely bright. We had to put both flashes in max power to get the effect we want.

The Gin family

I know the Gin family for almost 10 years since we moved to Arizona. They are leaving Arizona very soon. So we decided to do a photoshoot before their move. We did the shoot in a local park. Even though the weather was warm and humid at 7am, we all had a great time in the park.

I also try a new action from ATN central in this shoot. It gives some fashion magazine look to it.

Finally, we finish all the touch up work (yeah!!). You can view and order the pictures through this link. It’ll bring you to an online ordering site. All the pictures can be viewed online. To order, simply click on individual pictures and select the size. We found out that the system does not allow customer to stack ‘discount packages’. So, instead of having 20% off over $100 order. We now offer 15% off over $50 order and 25% off over $100 order for A La Carte orders. This discount will not apply to the original discount package. Check out this link for details.

I got inquiries from some of you about the availability of the pictures. I know you can’t wait to see all the pictures. I really want to finish them because they look so good and I’m sure you’ll enjoy them very much as well. We’re working very hard to finish the touch up (including fixing the background, have to remove the seams between the two backdrops in the middle for most of the group pictures). It should be ready within next couple days. Check out the order procedure in this link.

Carter’s Gymnastic Portrait

Had a chance to shoot the team portraits of Carter’s Gymnastics Academy. Jack and Erin are top notch gymnastics coaches in Arizona. Their gymnasts spend a lot of hours weekly in training. Their success is the results of hardwork and talent. Hope they will have great success in the year of 2008.

Profoto D4 pack is used to light up the gym. There is plenty of power to override the in house ambient light (capable to deliver 4800W of power).

We are invited to join Dominique and Henry Alvarado birthday party in their home. It’s always fun to play in their huge backyard. This year they have the ‘Under the sea’ and ‘Knight’ theme for the girls and the boys. Did a family portrait for John, Julie, Dominique, Henry and grandpa and grandma.
